Reuben Ayarna is in his third season as an assistant coach for the Owls. Most recently, Ayarna was an assistant coach at his alma mater – Boston College – where he was in charge of planning and executing drills to help players develop their tactical skills, individual skills, and leadership roles.
Ayarna was a standout and team captain at Boston College where he played for Ed Kelly. During his time there, he earned the honors of All-ACC Freshman Team, All-ACC Second Team, All-ACC First Team, and was named a First Team All-American.
Once his college career ended in 2008, Ayarna continued his playing on the professional level from 2008-2022 with a few different clubs. He served as a team captain for two teams and was named a player/coach for two teams as well. In this role, he provided guidance to players to improve their skills and overall performance. Ayarna also led community service activities that were rooted in social justice and social responsibility.
Another role he holds is consulting for the Africa Football Agency – his main responsibilities are providing technical assistance to professional football clients which include helping with club selection, contract negotiations, and opportunities to invest in the development of Ghana.
Ayarna earned a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Systems from Boston College in 2023 and Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from the University College of Northern Denmark in 2019.
