Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Brianna Ecklof (Howell, N.J.) of the gymnastics team and junior Rocco Cundari (Norwalk, Conn.) of the baseball team have been named as the Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.

Ecklof captured first place on the floor exercise with a score of 9.775 in a meet against West Chester, Springfield and Rhode Island College on Saturday. She also placed second on the bars with a 9.525 to help the Owls defeat two of the three teams at the competition.

Cundari hurled seven shutout innings in the second game of a doubleheader against LIU-Post on Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the year. He merited only three hits and struck out nine in the Owls’ 13-1 win over the Pioneers.
