NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Carolynn Keal (Southington, Conn.) of the women’s lacrosse team and senior Griffin Bremer (Higganum, Conn.) of the baseball team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Keal finished with a solid all-around effort during a 1-1 week for the Owls with nine points, seven draw controls, seven groundballs and five caused turnovers. Keal tallied three points in a win over AIC and followed that up with six points (three goals, three assists) in the game at Franklin Pierce.
Bremer improved to 5-0 on the year with another strong effort in his only start of the week. He tossed seven innings and allowed just two runs on four hits as the Owls knocked off Pace on Saturday.
Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University's 'Athlete of the Week' recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
