THE WEEK AHEAD
The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team will host a pair of Northest-10 Conference rivals this week, as they take on American International College on Wednesday before going up against Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday.
DOWN THE STRETCH
The Owls trail Franklin Pierce by two games for first place in the Northeast-10 Conference with only three games remaining in the regular season.
BETWEEN THE PIPES… Part 2
Andrew Esposito picked up his eighth shutout of the season last week in the Owls 1-0 victory over Le Moyne. The junior goalkeeper's efforts have not gone unnoticed as he was named last week's Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week.
MORE HONORS
Sophomore midfielder
Ross McGibney was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll last week. McGibney scored a pair of goals in the Owls' 2-0 victory over Bentley on October 9, these two goals were his seventh and eighth of the season.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Junior goalkeeper
Andrew Esposito has recorded five shutouts, while making 23 saves in six games.
HOME FOR GOOD
Following their two game road trip, the Owls return home for the last three games of the regular season, as they host American International College, Southern New Hampshire University and Merrimack College at Jess Dow Field.
LANG EARNS 200TH WIN WITH OWLS
Head coach
Tom Lang recorded his 200th career win at SCSU on Sept. 4 with the 2-1 win over Caldwell.
PICKING UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF
Paul Templeton and
Harry Appiah, two of the team's top returning scorers from a year ago, both registered goals over the course of the opening two games.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
SCSU starts the year with five matches away from home - two neutral site and three road contests. The home opener is on Sept. 22 against New Haven.
RETURNING A STRONG NUCLEUS
The Owls have a great veteran presence this year with 13 returning players from last year's club.

Southern Connecticut was selected fourth in the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer coaches' preseason poll.

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
Seth Ragaini handed out seven assists in 2009, which was good enough for first place on the team and in the Northeast-10 Conference.
TEMPLETON EXCELLING IN ALL FACETS
Paul Templeton was selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team following the conclusion of the 2009 season. Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 to be eligible for consideration.
A HALF DOZEN ALL-CONFERENCE PICKS BACK
Six student-athletes who were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference at the conclusion of last year's are back this season.

Paul Templeton were named to the All-Conference squads, while Frank Lara and
Seth Ragaini were both All-Rookie Team picks.
ECAC RECOGNITION

Paul Templeton are returning All-ECAC selections from a year ago.
REGIONAL ACCOLADES CONTINUE
Three Owls returning in 2010 -
Harry Appiah,
Victor Hernandez and
Paul Templeton - collected All-Region honors at the conclusion of the 2009 season.
TOURNAMENT FINALISTS
The Owls reached the finals of the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, where they were edged by a nationally ranked LeMoyne squad on the road, 2-1.

The Owls return to action when they play host to Northeast-10 Conference rival American International College on October 20.
