LET'S GO DANCING
The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team prepares for a match with Dominican College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The contest will be played on the campus of Dowling College on Friday at 1 p.m. An Owls win puts the club in the second round on Sunday for a 1 p.m. affair at Dowling.

NOT THEIR FIRST RODEO
Southern Connecticut is playing in the NCAA Tournament for the 32nd time in program history. The Owls have won six National Championships (1987, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1998, 1999) all-time.

MOVING ON UP
Thanks to a win and a tie in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, the Owls moved up two spots in this week's NSCAA National Poll to No. 18.

ALL-TIME AGAINST DOMINICAN
Southern Connecticut holds a 2-1-2 advantage in the all-time series against Dominican. The Chargers won the last meeting, a 3-0 triumph in the 2008 season opener. The teams played to a draw in 2007. During the 2006 campaign, the clubs tied during the regular season before the Owls claimed a win in the NCAA Tournament. The first meeting was a 3-0 win for the Owls in 2004.

ALL-TIME AGAINST DOWLING
The Owls have an 18-2-2 advantage in the all-time series with Dowling. The Golden Lions and Owls last met during the 2006 NCAA Regional final, with Dowling posting a 2-1 overtime win. The Owls led 1-0 late in regulation before the Lions scored with three minutes left and eventually won in overtime.

HERNANDEZ EARNS ALL-TOURNEY LAURELS
Victor Hernandez was selected to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Tournament team for his play in the Owls' two outings last week.

RAGAINI COLLECTS NE-10 WEEKLY HONORS
Sophomore Seth Ragaini was selected to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll for his play in the league tournament. Ragaini had a goal and an assist in the two contests.

NINE OWLS NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE
The Owls had nine student-athletes collect honors from the Northeast-10 Conference for their play during the regular season. Junior Paul Templeton was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year, while also collecting First-Team All-Conference honors. Fellow captain Victor Hernandez was also named to the First-Team. Harry Appiah, Yoni Feldman and Ross McGibney were all Second-Team honorees. Sophomore Mario Costa was tabbed for the Third-Team, while freshmen Jon Eckford, Matthew Glodack and Doural Scott were named to the All-Rookie Team.

UNSELFISH PLAY
Senior midfielder Victor Hernandez leads the Northeast-10 Conference in assists/game and is second in the league with nine total assists.

CLUTCH PLAY
Sophomore midfielder Ross McGibney is tied for the most game winning goals, with four, in the Northeast-10 Conference. McGibney also ranks fifth in the league in goals per game.

SAVE AND A BEAUTY
Junior goalkeeper Andrew Esposito is fourth in save percentage in the Northeast-10 Conference, as he stopped .863 perecent of shots he has faced games this season. He has posted a 8-1-3 mark to go with a 0.74 goals against average and five shutouts.

DOUBLE DIGIT DOMINANCE
The Owls have won at least 10 matches in 33 of the last 34 seasons, including the 2010 campaign.

LANG EARNS 200TH WIN WITH OWLS
Head coach Tom Lang recorded his 200th career win at SCSU on Sept. 4 with the 2-1 win over Caldwell. Including 2010, the Owls have reached the NCAA Tournament on 11 occasions under his watch.

MCGIBNEY SETS NEW MARK
Ross McGibney scored the quickest goal to start a match in program history in the Sept. 14 game against Assumption when he scored just 25 seconds into play. The old mark was 35 seconds on a marker tallied by Renwick Hutson vs. Bentley on 11/2/96.

A TOUGH WAY TO START IT
SCSU started the year with five matches away from home - two neutral site and three road contests.

RETURNING A STRONG NUCLEUS
The Owls have a great veteran presence this year with 13 returning players from last year's club.

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL
Southern Connecticut was selected fourth in the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer coaches' preseason poll.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
