NEW HAVEN, Conn.- A late second half goal by Junior Lisamarie Tarchini (Bristol, Conn.) was enough for the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team to hold off Adelphi University, 1-0, on  Tuesday night at Jess Dow Field
 
Tarchini knocked in a rebound shot from a corner kick in the 76^th minute to give the Owls the lead.
 
Southern's Jacquelyn Fede (North Haven, Conn.) recorded four saves in the contest.
 
Southern improved their overall record to 9-1-1, 7-1-1 in the NE-10
 
The Owls are back in action Saturday, Oct. 8 at home against Bentley at 1 p.m.
