THE WEEK AHEAD
Off to its best start since 2005, the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team will look to stay undefeated when it travels to Assumption on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.,followed by a home contest against St. Michael's on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.
SHUTOUT CITY
Goalie
Jacquelyn Fede recorded two more shutouts last week, bringing her total to four on the season as the Owls defeated Le Moyne and Southern New Hampshire. Still perfect on the year, Fede's three saves in the two contests upped her total to eight on the year as the Owls have yet to surrender a goal.
STAYING HOT
Sophomore
Suzane Pires continued her early-season scoring binge, as her goal against Le Moyne was her third score in three games. Pires leads the Owls with seven points (three goals and one assist).
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Freshman
Stephanie Santos' first collegiate goal proved to be the game-winner against Southern New Hampshire, as she found the top right-hand corner of the net for the game's lone score.
EARNING IT
The Owls were ranked No. 5 in the region in last week's NSCAA regional poll.
WINNING TRADITION
The Owls will aim to improve on their 10-4-1 all-time record against Assumption.
THIRD TIME'S A CHARM
The Owls will go for their third straight victory over St. Michael's, as they hope to build on their 6-4-1 all-time record in the series.
IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL
The Owls were picked eighth in the Northeast-10 Conference Coaches' preseason poll. SCSU just missed out on the league tournament in 2010.

The Owls have 16 players returning to the field this season.

LOOKING BACK AT 2010
The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team capped off the 2010 season with an overall mark of 8-6-3. The Owls were regionally ranked for most of the campaign.
TWO EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Jenna Mallico and defender
Sarah Brochu were both recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their play during the 2010 season.
THREE NAMED ALL-NEW ENGLAND

Sarah Brochu were all selected All-New England for their play during the 2010 season.
FARING WELL IN THE CLASSROOM
In 2010, 14 members of the women's soccer team were selected to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
DIDIO BECOMES ALL-TIME SAVES LEADER
Katie DiDio became the school's all-time leader in saves during the 2010 season. She closed her career with 311 stops.
SUCCESS AS A TEAM AS WELL
The Owls were also recognized with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Academic Team Award for posting a cumulative team grade point average of greater than 3.0.
