NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
Kimberly Lachowicz (Mansfield, Texas) controlled the offense dishing a total of 38 assists to four student athletes that were each over seven kills as the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball swept Bentley, 3-0, at Pelz Gymnasium.
The Owls had a total of 18 blocks between them including:
Syriah Celestine (Greenlawn, N.Y.) with six,
Sarah Beres (Ellington, Conn.) with five and
Megan Hiss (Trinidad, Colo.) with five. Southern Conn. hit over 0.300-percent as a team with 38 kills in 89 total attacks led by Celestine at 0.500 and
Megan Lyons (Cold Spring, N.Y.) at 0.364-percent.
The Owls never trailed and outside of the first few points of each set continued to hold a lead of at least four points through a quick three setter: 25-12, 25-17, and 25-15.
With the victory, the Owls are 7-3 overall with a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference record.
The Owls will be back in action this Saturday as part of a tri-match against Bloomfield College at 1 p.m. and University of Sciences in Philadelphia at 3 p.m.
