NYACK, N.Y. - The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team defeated Nyack College on its home floor in a close five set match this evening. Megan Hiss (Trinidad, Colo.) led all student-athletes with a 17 kill night and 13 digs with a 0.384 hitting percentage, followed by Megan Lyons (Cold Spring, N.Y.) with 13 kills and 14 digs. Lauren McVey (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) chimed in with 10 kills and 12 digs in the win.

The Owls traded the first three sets with Nycak and found themselves in a must-win situation going into the fourth set down 2-1. They won the final two sets 25-22 and 15-11 and held Nycak College to a 0.176 hitting percentage throughout the match.

The Owls are currently 3-0 on the season.

The Owls will be back in action Thursday for a home match between University of Bridgeport with the first serve to go out at 7 p.m.
