SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University Owls women's soccer team defeats Le Moyne College today, 2-0. Senior midfielder,
Jenna Mallico (Milford, Conn.) led the offense for the Owls, scoring the first goal of the game and picking up an assist on the second. Mallico's goal came in the eighth minute of the first half when she dribbled through the defense and scored in the lower right corner.
Suzane Pires (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added the second and final goal of the game in the 59th minute. Pires tucked the ball into the left side of the net from ten yards deep, after receiving a pass from Mallico. This is Pires' third goal in three consecutive games.
Goaltender
Jacquelyn Fede (North Haven, Conn.) picks up her third shutout on the season, stopping the only two shots on net. The Owls move to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in Northeast-10 conference action. Le Moyne drops to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in Northeast-10 play.
The Owls next scheduled game is Friday, September 9th, when they host Southern New Hampshire University. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.
