NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team slipped past Southern New Hampshire University tonight, 1-0. Freshmen
Stephanie Santos (Naugatuck, Conn.) added the only goal of the game early in the second half. Santos scored in the top right hand corner off a foul by Southern New Hampshire in the 51st minute. The Owls controlled the ball most of the game versus the Penmen.
Southern Connecticut managed to get 12 shots off in the game, with five coming on goal. Southern New Hampshire only was able to get three shots off during the game, with only one being on net.
Jacquelyn Fede (North Haven, Conn.) earned her fourth consecutive shutout on the season. Fede stopped the only shot on goal all game.
The Owls improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Penmen drop to 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in Northeast-10 play.
The Owls next game will be September, 14 when they travel to Worcester, Mass. to face Assumption College. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.
