SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After two overtime periods, the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team ended its match in a 1-1 draw tonight against Le Moyne College.Â
The Owls are 2-6-1, 1-4-1 in Northeast 10 Conference play. Le Moyne is now 3-4-2, 1-3-2 in the NE-10 Conference.Â
Le Moyne's Rachel Terry stole the ball from the SCSU defense outside the box and scored the first goal of the game in the 17th minute. The rest of the first period was scoreless and Le Moyne went into the second period on top.
Most of the second period went on scoreless. However, in the 87th minute,
Hannah Spreckley (York, England) was able to score off a rebound from 12 yards out to put the Owls on the board.Â
Regulation ended and so did the scoring as SCSU and Le Moyne went two overtime periods without any goals, resulting in a draw. Both goalies had a good day including
Camille Fantini (Andover, Mass.), who rounded out the day with eight saves.
The Owls will be back in action on the road against Saint Anselm in Manchester, N.H. on Saturday at 3 p.m.
