Owls Soar Over Falcons, 3-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A few clutch goals from Hannah Spreckley (York, England) and Suzane Pires (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in the second half lifts the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team over Bentley, 3-1.

The Owls are now 0-0-0, 0-0-0 in the Northeast 10 Conference. Bentley is now 0-0-0, 0-0-0 in the NE-10 Conference.

The first half was very physical but scoreless.

The second half was when both teams started to step it up. It started with a goal from Bentley's Paige Tetu in the 60th minute. Then the Owls struck back hard with a goal from Spreckley in the 75th minute assist from Katherine Hutton (Hackettstown, N.J.), followed by two goals from Pires in the 77th minute and the 81st minute to seal the win for the Owls.

The Owls will be back in action on Oct. 30 on the road against Assumption at 7 p.m.
