Camille Fantini (Andover, Mass.) made her first start in goal tonight as The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team lost to No. 8 nationally ranked American International College.
The Owls are now 1-5, 0-4 in the Northeast 10 Conference. American International is now 6-0, 4-0 in the NE-10 Conference.
SCSU was no match for American International's defense as the Owls were unable to get any shots off in the first half. The Owls on the other hand also held their own by only allowing one Yellow Jackets goal. The goal came from Caroline Boyce in the 28th minute.
Southern Conn. continued to hold their own in the second half. Fantini had nine saves but the Owls couldn't get on the board.
The Yellow Jackets sealed the deal as Sonia Basma scored American International's final goal in the 59th minute.
The Owls are back in action against Southern New Hampshire on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
