LOOKING BACK AT 2013The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team enjoyed a fine 2013 season and narrowly missed out on a berth in the Northeast-10 Tournament. The Owls finished the year with seven wins. The team also excelled in the classroom, as they were once again honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a Team Academic Award for posting a cumulative team grade point average of higher than 3.0.
PIRES NAMED THIRD OWLS' ALL-AMERICANSenior
Suzane Pires became the third player in Owls' history to earn All-America honors when she was recognized by the NSCAA at the conclusion of last year. She joins Theresa Uliano and Beba Stratakis as Owls' All-Americans.

TWO NAMED ALL-NEW ENGLAND, ALL-ECACHannah Spreckley and
Suzane Pires were both selected  to the All-New England and the All-ECAC teams for their play during the 2013 season.Â

OWLS THRIVE INDIVIDUALLY IN THE CLASSROOMFrom the academic standpoint, the Owls were honored with the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the fifth year in a row. Twenty-one student-athletes were also named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for posting a semester grade point average of at least 3.0.Â
PAIR COLLECT ALL-CONFERENCE HONORSHannah Spreckley and
Suzane Pires were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their play during the 2013 season. Pires collected First-Team All-League honors, while Spreckley was named to the Second-Team.Â
