SCOUTING THE DOLPHINSLe Moyne (4-4-1, 2-2-1 NE-10) is coming off a 2-1 defeat to Merrimack, the only mutual opponent shared with the Owls so far this season. Junior forward Kelly Ristoff leads the squad with seven goals on the season. Her seven markers rank tied for second in the NE-10 and her 14 points are good enough for third in the conference. Sophomore forward Rachel Terry has three goals and one assist through seven games this season.

SCOUTING THE HAWKSSaint Anselm (4-1-1, 2-1-1 NE-10) open up action this week with a match on Tuesday at Saint Michael's, who they defeted 1-0 earlier this season in a non-conference matchup. The Hawks are coming off a 3-1 victory over Pace on Saturday. Sophomore goalkeeper Cassie Quattropani has a 1.15 goals against average through six games this season. Senior keeper Gabriella Primera has stopped all four shots she has faced so far through four appearances. Offensively, the Hawks are led by freshman Alexis Elowitch, who has five goals and is tied for fifth in the NE-10 with 11 points.
IN THE PRESEASON NORTHEAST-10 COACHES POLLÂ The Owls were picked ninth in the Northeast-10 Preseason coaches poll. The Owls received 100 points, while Saint Rose was tabbed as the preseason favorite.

Maeghan Howard netted the game winner on Saturday at SNHU in the 88th minute. Senior

LOOKING BACK AT 2013The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team enjoyed a fine 2013 season and narrowly missed out on a berth in the Northeast-10 Tournament. The Owls finished the year with seven wins. The team also excelled in the classroom, as they were once again honored by the National Soccer Coaches Accosiation of America with a Team Academic Award for posting a cumulative team grade point average of higher than 3.0.
PIRES NAMED THIRD OWLS' ALL-AMERICANSenior
Suzane Pires became the third player in Owls' history to earn All-America honors when she was recognized by the NSCAA at the conclusion of last year. She joins Theresa Uliano and Beba Stratakis as Owls' All-Americans.

OWLS THRIVE INDIVIDUALLY IN THE CLASSROOMFrom the academic standpoint, the Owls were honored with the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the fifth year in a row. Twenty-one student-athletes were also named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for posting a semester grade point average of at least 3.0.
PAIR COLLECT ALL-CONFERENCE HONORSHannah Spreckley and
Suzane Pires were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their play during the 2013 season. Pires collected First-Team All-League honors, while Spreckley was named to the Second-Team.
ON DECKNext week, the Owls travel to cross-town rival New Haven on Tuesday, Oct. 7 for a 4 p.m. showdown before returning home on Saturday, Oct. 11 to take on Saint Michael's at 1 p.m.
