Chae Brangman scored his fourth goal of the year against Bentley, but it came when the Owls were already down 2-0. Southern Connecticut had trouble containing Nick Hoffman who accounted for a goal and an assist. Bentley is now third in the NE-10 with a record of 6-3.

Sean Black scored the goal in the win over the Golden Knights. It was his second goal since joining the Owls this season. Despite allowing 16 shots to the Golden Knights, only four of them were on goal, and
Noah Varonier was able to save all of them. He earned his third shutout of the year.
CONFERENCE STANDINGSSouthern Conn. is now 6-2-1 in the NE-10 and holds sole possession of second place in the conference. The Owls have four games remaining on their schedule and two of them are against teams currently in the top five of the conference: Southern New Hampshire and Adelphi.
THIS WEEKSouthern Connecticut plays two home games this week. The Owls will host Adelphi on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Panthers will enter the matchup with a conference record of 5-2-2. Then on Saturday, they will host Assumption at 6 p.m.
SCOUTING ADELPHIThe Panthers finished last week with a record of 0-1-1. They tied Franklin Pierce and lost to No. 3 Southern New Hampshire. The Panthers and Owls have faced eight common opponents. Southern Connecticut is 5-3 in those games, while Adelphi is 4-1-3. The Panthers are led by Caelan Hueber who has seven goals on the year, tied for first in the conference with four other players including Louis Greenway-Tambini. James Thristino has six goals, himself. Hueber and Thristino are the highest scoring duo in the conference. Sergio Reyes has allowed fourteen goals in thirteen games and has a save percentage of 69.6-percent.
ALL-TIME vs. ADELPHIThe Owls are 4-3-0 all-time against Adelphi, including a win in the NE-10 Tournament Semi-Finals last year.

SCOUTING ASSUMPTIONThe Greyhounds will play Le Moyne on Wednesday before traveling to New Haven to face the Owls on Saturday. Assumption and Southern Connecticut share nine common opponents as of Monday: the Owls are 4-4-1 against those teams; Assumption is 2-6-1. As of Monday, the Greyhounds are 1-2-3 in their last six games, scoring just two goals over that span. Assumption has scored seven goals in fourteen games, led by Ethan Morrow, who has two. The saving grace for the Greyhounds has been their goalkeeper Dana King, who has seen the majority of time in net. King has allowed ten goals and made 49 saves on the year. That is a save percentage of 83-percent, good for third in the conference. His goal against average of 0.88 is second best in the conference. Assumption is 0-2-3 on the road this year.
ALL-TIME vs. ASSUMPTIONThe Owls are 13-2-1 all-time against the Greyhounds, including going 3-0-1 in their last three games.
BEATING NO. 15 MERRIMACKChae Brangman scored both goals for the Owls in the win over the Warriors. He was the recipient of a pass from Louis Greenway-Tambini as he was about 10 yards away from the goal and fired it past Merrimack's keeper Lucas Rezende. Merrimack responded right before the half with a goal by Augusto Silva, but Brangman came back in the 74th minute, drawing a foul on Rezende and earning a penalty kick, which he scored to give the Owls a 2-1 lead and win.
THE PRESEASON NE-10 COACHES POLLSCSU was picked second in the NE-10 preseason coaches poll. The Owls received 154 points and one first place vote out of 14.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASONThe Owls finished 2014 with a 15-5 record and a No. 17 national ranking in the NSCAA poll. SCSU reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and before that, qualified for the finals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. The Owls averaged just over two goals per game, with

Tyler Naef will captain the Owls this fall. This will mark the second straight year that Naef will serve as a team captain.

Chae Brangman. Brangman finished second on the team last year with six goals. The next highest returning scorers are Brandon Rowlinson and
Ignacio Navarro, who each scored two goals last year.
