View Complete ResultsEWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team lost its meet to TCNJ over the weekend by a score of 184-108.
Tyler Vander Vos (South Windsor, Conn.),
Dylan Swanepoel (Milford, Conn.) and
Raymond Cswerko (Torrington, Conn.) all finished first in individual events, and Vander Vos,
Brendan Murphy (Watertown, Conn.),
Shane Maypother (Wall Township, N.J.) and
Louis Geist (Arvada, Colo.) took first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:23.76.
Vander Vos finished the weekend placing first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.33, second in the 500 yard freestyle at 4:52.51 and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle in addition at to the relay victory.
Swanepoel placed first in the 200 yard butterfly at 1:57.65, fifth in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:49.72 and second in the 200 yard medley at 1:38.13 with Cswerko, Murphy and
Raymond Snyder (Waterbury, Conn.).
Along with both relay wins, Cswerko finished first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 1:55.45, second in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:11.44, second in the 100 yard breaststroke at 58.43.
Geist placed second in the 1000 yard freestyle at 10:06.81, third in the 500 yard freestyle at 4:52.88 and sixth in the 200 yard IM at 2:05.90.
Snyder ended the day with third place finishes in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.37 and the 100 yard backstroke at 55.19. He also finished sixth in the 50 yard freestyle.
Murphy finished fourth in the 50 yard freestyle at 22.29 and sixth in the 100 yard freestyle at 51.83.
Maypother finished fourth in the 100 yard butterfly at 56.06 and sixth in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:52.02.
Selim Lemond (Oxford, Conn.) finished first in the three meter dive with a score of 276.40, and
Giovanni Dauphin (Waterbury, Conn.) finished second in the one meter dive at 237.30.
Tyler Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.),
Travis Burke (Downington, Pa.), Matt Demirs (Oakville, Conn.) and
Tyler Steskla (Cheshire, Conn.) finished second in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:41.33.
Southern Connecticut is back in action next week at home when it hosts Saint Rose.
