Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team fell to the Adelphi Panthers on Tuesday night by a score of 3-0.
With the loss, the Owls fall to 3-6 and 3-4 in the conference, while the Panthers improve to 7-2-2 and 5-0-2.
Morgan Santarro scored two of Adelphi's three goals. The first came in the 51st minute when the ball was loose in the middle of the box. Santarro got her foot on the ball and scored to the far post. She scored again in the 75th minute thanks to an assist from Brianna Doran.
Taylor Salmon also scoed for the Panthers. Her goal came in the 61st minute off a free kick from 30 yards out.
Erica Ridella (Warwick, N.Y.) made the initial save on Salmon's shot, but the ball bounced off the inside of the goal post and ricocheted into the net. Ridella made four saves in the loss
The Owls could only manage four shots on the stingy Panther defense.
Kieran DeBiase (Prospect, Conn.), who scored for Southern Connecticut in Saturday's loss to UNH, had just two shots, one of them on goal.
Southern Connecticut returns to action this Friday when it hosts AIC at 7 p.m.
