LAST WEEKSouthern Connecticut split its games last week. They shutout Saint Michael's 3-0 on the road and feel to Bentley 4-3 on Senior Day.

Caroline Staudle scored two goals for the Owls in their win over Saint Michael's. They were her fifth and sixth goals of the year.
Victoria Conde also scored her sixth of the year.
Erica Ridella made five saves in her third shutout this season.
• The Owls lost a high scoring affair on Senior Day despite coming back from being down 1-0 and 3-1.
Betti Worth scored her first goal on the season to tie the game at one. Conde and Staudle added to their totals with one goal each. They both finish the season with seven goals, tied for ninth in the conference.

SCOUTING ADELPHIThe Owls have lost to Adelphi once already this year: a 3-0 decision at Jess Dow Field in early October. Laura Gomez is the leading goal scorer for the Panthers with 10 goals on the year and Kelsey Malles is right behind her with seven. Their goalkeeper, Anne Marie Ulliac, is fifth in the conference with a save percentage of 84.7-percent. She has also allowed 0.61 goals per game. Adelphi has not lost a conference game this season.

ALL-TIME vs. ADELPHIThe Owls are 5-4-2 all-time against the Panthers, including the loss earlier this season.
CONDE AND STAUDLEVictoria Conde and
Caroline Staudle have been on a scoring tear as of late. Conde has five goals in her last five games, including two in the 2-1 win over Merrimack. Staudle has three in her last two games, including two in the 3-0 win over Saint Michael's.

Victoria Buonanni's goal in the win over Pace, then scored the first two goals of the game at Franklin Pierce.
NE-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEKFor her efforts in the two road conference wins last week, Staudle was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week.

WIN #1The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday against Assumption, a 3-2 victory with goals by
Victoria Buonanni,
Victoria Conde and
Caroline Staudle. They fell behind 1-0 in the fifth minute but tied up the game before halftime and took the lead off of a free position kick by Conde and extended it with a chip in goal by Staudle.

LAST TIME WE SAW THEM......The Owls won the ECAC Tournament, beating Adelphi in penalty kicks. Prior to that, SCSU defeated Newberry College, 2-1, in the ECAC semifinals.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASONSouthern Connecticut finished 2014 with an 11-6-2 record overall. The Owls averaged just over one goal per game and allowed just under one. The strength of the Owls was their defense, led by keeper
Erica Ridella. She allowed 17 goals in 19 games and saved 85-percent of shots she faced.
Caroline Staudle led the team with six goals and 12 points last year, followed by
Victoria Buonanni with five goals and
Kieran DeBiase with three.

HONORABLE OWLSSarah Brochu took home the most awards of anyone on the team last year, most notably being named the Defensive Player of the Year and as an NE-10 Conference First-Team honoree. Also named to the All-Conference teams were Keri DeBiase,
Erica Ridella, Victoria  Buonanni, and
Victoria Conde. DeBiase and Ridella were named Third-Team All-Conference, while Bounanni and Conde were named to the All-Rookie Team.
