LOUIE, LOUIELouis Greenway-Tambini scored three goals last week, two of them game-winners. He scored the only goal of the game against UNH when the ball was misplayed by the opposing goalkeeper. Against FPU, he showed his ball handling skills, crossing over a defender for his first goal of the night, and putting the ball between the legs of a defender before scoring the game winner in overtime.
NE-10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLLFor his efforts last week, Greenway-Tambini earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll.
THIS WEEKThe Owls have two games this week: an away game at AIC on Tuesday and a home matchup against Saint Anselm on Saturday.
SCOUTING AMERICAN INTERNATIONALThe Yellow Jackets will enter Tuesday's game having lost their last game to No. 5 ranked Southern New Hampshire 2-1. Prior to that, AIC tied Franklin Pierce, whom Southern Connecticut just beat. FPU is the only common opponent between the Owls and Yellow Jackets thus far. Sebastian Tamayo has started every game in net for AIC this year, saving 45 shots - most in the conference - and posting a save percentage of just over 80-percent. Alec Cerquiera leads the Yellow Jackets in goals with five - AIC scores an average of 1.14 goals a game.
ALL TIME VS. AICThe Owls are 32-2-2 all-time against American International, including a 2-0 win last year.
SCOUTING SAINT ASNELMThe Hawks will play Le Moyne on Tuesday before traveling to New Haven to take on the Owls on Saturday. As of Monday, Saint Anselm has lost three straight games, all of them to conference opponents. The only common opponent thus far between the Owls and Hawks is Saint Michael's - whom both teams have lost to. Stephen McLeod is expected to start in net for Saint Anselm. He has allowed ten goals on 48 shots. The Hawks have scored ten goals on the year - Emmet O'Callaghan leads the way with three and Zachary Heckt and Jack Lynch are right behind him with two each.
ALL-TIME VS. SAINT ANSELMThe Owls are 12-3-2 all-time against Saint Anselm, including wins in their last two appearances.
WINNING THE HOME OPENERThe Owls took their home opener from Le Moyne on Saturday, September 12 with goals by
Chae Brangman and Louis Greenway-Tambini. They came within three minutes of each other and sent the Dolphins back home to Syracuse with a loss. This is the third straight time Southern Connecticut has beaten Le Moyne and the Owls improve their overall record against the Dolphins to 17-4-1.Â

Markus Jacobsen is redshirting this year after holding a tie in goals last year with
Chae Brangman. Filling in for him at the forward spot has been a combination of Brangman, Louis Greenway-Tambini, and
Sabri Akter. Brangman and Greenway-Tambini have scored all three goals for the Owls this season.
THE PRESEASON NE-10 COACHES POLLSCSU was picked second in the NE-10 preseason coaches poll. Â The Owls received 154 points and one first place vote out of 14.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASONThe Owls finished 2014 with a 15-5 record and a No. 17 national ranking in the NSCAA poll. SCSU reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and before that, qualified for the finals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. The Owls averaged just over two goals per game, with
Daquan King and
Markus Jacobsenleading the team with 10 goals each. Defense was the Owls' strength. Led by NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year
Sebastian Brems, they allowed 1.16 goals per game. Freshman keeper
Noah Varonier was a stud in net for the Owls, saving 71-percent of the shots he faced.
THE CAPTAINHead coach
Tom Lang announced that redshirt senior
Tyler Naef will captain the Owls this fall. This will mark the second straight year that Naef will serve as a team captain.
SCORING PUNCH COMING BACKSouthern Connecticut will see two of its top five scorers from last season return -
Markus Jacobsen and
Chae Brangman. Brangman finished second on the team last year with six goals. The next highest returning scorers are Brandon Rowlinson and
Ignacio Navarro, who each scored two goals last year.
