Women's Soccer To Play Two Conference Games This Week

The Owls begin their two game road trip with a showdown against No. 12 Adelphi University.

The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team hits the road for two games this week beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 4 with a matchup against nationally ranked Adelphi University at 7 p.m., followed by a showdown against American International College on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. 

ALL-TIME VS. ADELPHI 
Both teams are tied in the all-time series with a record of 5-5-2. In the last meeting, Adelphi defeated the Owls 1-0 in the NE-10 Conference tournament.

ALL-TIME VS. AIC
The Owls hold a 12-7-1 all-time record against AIC. The Yellow Jackets squeezed out a 1-0 overtime win in last year's showdown.

The Owls' offense have outshot their opponents, 65-24. SCSU is 3-1 in those games.

NE-10 CONFERENCE 
SCSU is currently fifth in the NE-10 Conference with a total of nine points, trailing Assumption College and Southern New Hampshire University by one point for fourth place. The Owls are 3-3 in conference play. 

THE CAPTAIN
Junior forward Hannah Bodner has been named team captain for the 2016 season. Bodner appeared in 15 games for the Owls last season.
 
LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR
SCSU finished the 2015 season with a 6-10-1 record and qualified for the NE-10 Conference Tournament.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome 13 newcomers to the squad for the 2016 season - graduate student Brianne Casey, senior Gabrielle Arruda and freshmen Amy Boswell, Johanna Wahlen, Karoline Petersen, Olivia Holubecki, Marisa Grisell, Juliana Templeman, Kristin Gay, Kelly Lamb, Clara Timony, Madison Nastri and Giavanna Colaccino.
