Box Score 2 WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University softball team dropped a pair of games at New Haven on Wednesday afternoon 7-0 and 17-2.
The Owls are now 6-15 and 0-6 in the NE-10 while New Haven is 14-4 and 6-2. The Chargers have the most wins in the conference.
Arianna Medeiros (Tewksbury, Mass.) and
Brooke Franco (Middletown, Conn.) both went 1-for-3 in game one. They are batting .344 and .333, respectively, the highest of all players on the team with 50 or more at-bats.
Victoria Ceballos (Bridgeport, Conn.) smacked an extra base hit in the game.
Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) batted in the first run of game two. Medeiros walked to lead off the game and was advanced to third on two batters. Dolloff singled her in on the first pitch she saw.
Giuliana D'Arcangelo (Brookfield, Conn.) went 1-for-2 with a run scored in game two. She singled in the top of the third and advanced to second on a passed ball.
Heather Jackson (Saunderstown, Conn.) singled her home on a 1-2 count.
Southern Connecticut returns to action on Thursday when it travels to LIU Post for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
