NYACK, N.Y. - Led by a nine-kill performance from sophomore
Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.), the Southern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team swept Nyack College, 3-0, in a non-conference clash on Wednesday evening.
SOUTHERN TAKES THE 1-0 LEAD:
It was a close first set as Nyack kept within arms reach of the Owls, but the visitors took the 1-0 lead after taking set one by five, 25-20.
OFFENSIVE ATTACK:
Behind a .476 team hitting percentage, Southern Connecticut's offense dominated in set two defeating Nyack 25-10.
OWLS SECURE FINAL SET AND MATCH:
Southern Connecticut recorded 13 kills, similar to set two, en route to the 25-21 win over Nyack in set three.
STAT BREAKDOWN:
- Jadus was just one kill shy of recording her seventh double-double of the season as the sophomore registered 11 kills, a block assist and a service ace to go along with her nine kills.

Alexandra Nimz (Littleton, Colo.) finished the night assisting 24 of the Owls' 36 kills.
