Prior to tonight's showdown, the Owls honored their five seniors:
Gabrielle Arruda,
Hannah Bodner,
Victoria Buonanni,
Brooke Davis and
Taylor Moore.
REGULATION
The Owls and the Penmen battled through regulation time where they collectively took 15 shots, but neither squad could find the back of the net. The resilient effort of both teams forced the game into extra time.
FIRST OVERTIME
In the first overtime period, both teams' defensive effort spiked, as no shots on goal were allowed for either squad.
SECOND OVERTIME
The second overtime period saw offensive pushes for both teams. Senior
Gabrielle Arruda (West Suffield, Conn.) stood tall, making four saves to keep the Owls tied with the nationally ranked Penmen.
Victoria Buonanni (Durham, Conn.) had four shot attempts, while Arruda made nine saves in the match.
