Meaghan Kelley (East Brookfield, Mass.) scored both of the Owls goals, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer squad lost in its regular season finale to Franklin Pierce this afternoon, 4-2.

FIRST HALF
Kelley opened the scoring at 10:55 of the first half to put the Owls on the board 1-0 after senior
Victoria Buonanni (Durham, Conn.) fed the ball to her up the left side and she beat the goalkeeper on the far post for her first of the year. Kelley scored her second of the game and second of the season 14 minutes later when she dispossessed the Franklin Pierce defender at the top of they 18-yard box and beat the goalkeeper on the near side post.
The Ravens split the Owls lead in half at 43:58 after a penalty shot was scored into the lower left corner.
SECOND HALF
Franklin Pierce tied the game at 52:01 off a shot from the 25-yard line. The Ravens would take the lead at 59:32 off a lifted shot from the left side. Franklin Pierce would then increase their lead at 85:53 of the game off of a cross to the right side of the penalty area with shot from the middle for a goal, 4-2.
Senior goalkeeper
Gabrielle Arruda (West Suffield, Conn.) would finish the game with nine saves.
The Owls close the 2017 season with a 2-12-3 overall record.
