The Southern Connecticut State University's women's soccer team will play only one match this week as it faces the Bentley Falcons on Saturday at 1 p.m. The last time these two teams squared off, Caroline Staudle scored the game-winning goal to lift the Owls past the Falcons, 2-1.

ARRUDA AMONG NCAA RANKINGS 
Senior Gabrielle Arruda (West Suffield, Conn.) ranks in the top five of the NCAA in saves with 83 in 12 games this season. That number surpasses her career-best as an Owl as she made 71 saves in 18 appearances last season. 

ARRUDA TO HONOR ROLL 
Senior Gabrielle Arruda (West Suffield, Conn.) was named to the weekly honor roll for her play in the Owls' 1-0 shutout win over AIC.

AIRTIGHT ARRUDA
Senior Gabrielle Arruda has been a force in the goal this season. On September 30, she stopped a potential game-changing penalty kick and made eight saves to secure the shutout and a huge win for the Owls. Arruda leads the NE10 in saves with 83.

BIG TIME BUONANNI
Senior Victoria Buonanni (Durham, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal off a penalty kick on September 30 to lift the Owls past AIC, 1-0. This was Buonanni's fourth career game-winning goal as an Owl.

WEEKLY HONORS FOR ARRUDA
Senior Gabrielle Arruda was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Sept. 18 for her play in the Owls' games against New Haven and Saint Rose.

ARRUDA SHINES IN GOAL
Gabrielle Arruda has been stellar in between the pipes. She surpassed her career-best in saves this season (10 saves, 12 saves) and currently leads the conference in saves with 47.

GOING FOR THE GOAL
Juniors Juliana Santos and Olivia Holubecki both scored their first collegiate points in the Owls' 2-1 win over Saint Michael's. Holubecki opened the scoring, where she struck off of a corner kick and then Santos blasted a rebound for the game-winner.

SANTOS NAMED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL 
Juliana Santos was also named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Sept. 11 for her performance in the Owls' 2-1 win over Saint Mike's.

LEADING THE SQUAD
Senior Hannah Bodner will return to captain the squad alongside junior co-captain Mikaela Magee for the 2017 season.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
The Owls finished the 2016 season with a 9-7-3 record and qualified for the NE-10 Conference Tournament, where they fell to Pace, 1-0 in the first round.

WELCOME TO THE SQUAD
The Owls welcome 10 newcomers to the club for the 2017 season - junior Amber Pindulic and freshmen Kelly Fogarty, Nadine Hilkert, Rossella Graniero, Alyssa Maldonado, Meaghan Kelley, Sydney Lee, Gillian Hotchkiss, Caley Hennessey and Kourtney Costello.

ARRUDA ANCHORS THE GOAL
All-Conference performer Gabrielle Arruda will return to the goal after a 2016 season that saw her sport an 8-6-3 with a 1.21 goals against average, .763 save percentage, and four shutouts.
