PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics team was edged by Brown, 192.850-189.625, at Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, R.I.
Cassidy Girolamo (Newington,Conn.) was the only athlete at the meet to compete in all four events and totaled an all-around score of 38.350. Girolamo posted a team-high 9.675 in the vault while finishing third. She also scored a 9.650 in the beam, a 9.625 in the floor exercise and a 9.400 on the bars.
Cadi Borsellino (Channanhon, Ill.) led the Owls on the bars with a 9.650, while also registering a 9.550 on the vault and a 9.350 on the floor exercise.
Vault
- Southern posted a combined 48.075 in the vault- it's highest of four scores for the night.
- Following Girolamo's 9.675, 2018 ECAC vault champ Alexandra Lesperance (Valrico, Fla.) scored a 9.650 for fourth place, with Tiffany Coleman (Milford, Conn.) and Kylyn Dawkins (Bridgeton, N.J.) close behind at 9.600.
Uneven Parallel Bars
- Borsellino finished third with a 9.650 while Jackie Kutcher (West Newbury, Mass.) tied for fourth with a 9.625.
Balance Beam
- Keara Loughlin (Lowell, Mass.) posted a team-best 9.750 to finish third overall while Kylyn Dawkins' 9.650 was good for a tie of sixth place with Girolamo.
Floor Exercise
- Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) tallied a 9.750 for second place in the floor routine while Jordan Peloquin (Greenville, R.I.) had a 9.700 for a tie for third place. Girolamo's 9.625 locked her into sixth place.
