NEW HAVEN, Conn. – With a thrilling 4-0 win on the road at Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 25, the Southern Connecticut men's soccer team clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Northeast 10 Conference Championship tournament and will host No. 7 Le Moyne on Saturday, Oct.29 at 4 p.m. at Jess Dow Field. With a win, the Owls would host a semifinals matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 2 against the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 3 Assumption and No. 6 Adelphi.

Owls' fans who can't make it to Jess Dow Field can watch live on The Owls Network, with live statistics also available for Southern's quarterfinal matchup against the Dolphins. Tickets for the event will be $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children 12 and under while students with a valid NE10 ID will be admitted free.

Southern surged up the conference standings with a push from a dominant October that saw head coach Tom Lang's squad post a 5-1-1 record in its final seven regular-season games. The Owls also posted a 4-3-1 record at Jess Dow Field this season but are 3-0-1 in its last four games on its home turf. The squad's last home loss came back on Sept. 28 against nationally ranked No. 1 Franklin Pierce.

The Owls have almost doubled-up their opponents over their last seven games to the tune of a 19-10 edge in goals and enter the weekend with back-to-back shutouts against American International (2-0) and Bentley (4-0).

Yannick Hilpert led the Owls with eight goals in 15 games this season, as well as one assist, for a team-best 17 points. Leroy Best led the Owls with seven assists to go along with three goals for 13 points. The bulk of Best's points came in the Owls' last seven games as he totaled three goals and five assists in that span. His 11 points in conference play also leads the Owls. Karim Said enters the tournament with three goals and four assists for 10 points.

Devin Juan has logged every minute of the Owls' 16 games in goal and is one of two players in the conference to play all 1,440 minutes. Juan's 1.19 goals-against-average ranks sixth while his .784 save percentage and 69 saves both rank third. Juan leads the NE10 with six shutouts and is second with nine wins. In 11 conference games, his .794 save percentage is second among all NE10 goalkeepers.

Southern is 19-17 all-time in the Northeast 10 Conference Championship Tournament, with its lone conference title coming in 2007. The Owls have advanced to the semifinals 11 times and the championship game six times, finishing as the runner-up a league-leading five times. As the higher seed in tournament play, the Owls are 11-4 all-time, since 2000, and are 3-0 as the No. 2 seed. Southern and Le Moyne have faced each other once in NE10 Tournament play, with the Owls taking a quarterfinals decision, 3-1, in 2006.
