SCSU Men's Swimming & Diving Competes At Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Against Yale at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool, Southern Connecticut men's swimming & diving's McAllistar Milne (Glastonbury, Conn.) won the 500 Yard Freestyle event, and finished second in the 400 Yard Individual Medley and 100 Yard Breaststroke, while Franklin Kuhn (Tolland, Conn.) won the 200 Yard Freestyle and finished second in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Chandler Tucker (Bellmore, N.Y.) had a pair of second-place finishes, in the 100 Yard Backstroke and the 200 Yard Individual Medley.
 
400 Individual Medley
McAllistar Milne finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.28 to pick up four points for the Owls.
 
1,000 Freestyle
Dylan Prescher (Ellington, Conn.) was third in the 1,000 Free with a time of 10:15.06.
 
200 Freestyle
Franklin Kuhn swam a blistering 1:43.70 to win the 200 Free.
 
100 Backstroke
Chandler Tucker made it a race in the 100 Back, finishing at 52.00 for second behind the leader at 51.68. JD Starkey (Madison, Conn.) was third at 53.80, nearly three seconds faster than Yale's fourth place swimmer.
 
100 Breaststroke
Milne finished second in the 100 Breast with a time of 58.66, trailing the leader at 57.70.
 
200 Butterfly
Henry Velazquez (Fairfield, Conn.) took second place in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:57.03.
 
50 Freestyle
Southern took the middle spots in the five-man 50 Free, led by Jack Fry (Southbury, Conn.) in second place at 22.36, followed by Tucker in third at 22.39 and Kuhn in fourth at 22.46.
 
100 Freestyle
Kuhn continued his battle with a second-place finish in the 100 Free with a time of 47.35.
 
200 Backstroke
Christopher Roewer's (Danbury, Conn.) 2:04.89 was good for second place in the 200 Back.
 
500 Freestyle
The race of the night came out of the 500 Free as Milne picked up the win after trailing for most of the race. In the end, he touched at 4:40.13, ahead of Yale's Adam Zapatka at 4:40.93.
 
100 Butterfly
Velazquez posted his second, second-place finish of the race with a time of 52.91 in the 100 Fly.
 
200 Yard Individual Medley
Tucker finished the 200 IM in 1:56.56, just behind Yale's Jack O'Connor at 1:56.32.
 
1 Meter Diving
Matheus Silva (Waterbury, Conn.) led Southern in the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 237.23 for third place followed by JT Tressel (Meriden, Conn.) with 195.98.

The Owls are back in action on Friday, Dec. 9 when they host Pace at 1 p.m. at Bruce Hutchinson Natatorium.
