Southern Connecticut gymnastics will travel to University Park, Pa. to compete in the Penn State Quad Meet against host Penn State with LIU and University of Pennsylvania on Friday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m.

Owl Notes
  • Southern opened the season with a tri-meet at West Chester with Bridgeport on Sunday, Jan. 8. The Owls posted a score of 186.225 in their first competition of the season, finishing third.
  • Freshman Ava Kelly (Long Beach Island, N.J.) posted the Owls' top score of the meet with a 9.65 in the Floor Exercise event for a tie of sixth place.
  • Kelly also competed on the Vault, finishing with a score of 9.425.
  • Hanna Zebdi, a All-Gymnastics East Conference Second Team selection in the Floor and Vault, posted a score of 9.625 on the Floor and 9.450 on the Vault.
  • Lexi Bracher led Southern on the Vault with a score of 9.475.
  • Hannah Stahlbrodt posted a team-high 9.625 on the Bars, which was good for second place.
  • Stahlbrodt, a two-time USAG First Team All-American on the Beam and All-Around, saw her first action since a season-ending injury in competition in 2022.
  • Ciana Rios posted a career-best 9.575 on the Bars against WCU and Bridgeport.
  • Alexa Melanson tallied the Owls' top score on the Beam with a 9.525.
  • Angel Lee followed with a 9.475.

2022 USA Gymnastics Nationals Qualifiers (Returners) Home Opener
Southern returns to action with its home opener against Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at James Moore Field House. The meet will also feature Alumni Day festivities to recognize former SCSU gymnastics student-athletes.
