PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Southern Connecticut gymnastics finished third at the Brown Quad-Meet in Providence, R.I. at Brown University. The Owls fell to Brown University and the University of Bridgeport, but rose above Rhode Island College. The Owls totaled 188.975 and posted a season-best score in the Vault.
The Owls posted a season-best in Vault at 47.900 to surpass their previous score in the last meet on Jan. 21, 2023. Southern Connecticut also posted a multitude of individual career-best scores. In the Vault, Brianna Dorr posted a career-best at 9.700. In Bars, Jaci Jordan (Culleoka, Tenn.) posted a career-best at 9.600 and Megan Workman (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) posted a career best a 9.175. In Beam, Abby Royer (Boyertown, Pa.) posted a career-best at 9.525 and Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) posted a season-best at 9.755. Sydney Smith's (McLean, Va.) first showing recorded a score of 9.000.
VAULT
Southern finished with a season-high score of 47.900. Brianna Dorr (Hampton, N.J.) was the top finisher for the Owls in fifth place with a score of 9.700 for a career-high score. Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) finished in seventh with a score of 9.625. Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) recorded a score of 9.575 for ninth, while Libby Allen (Franklin, Tenn.) placed 11th with a 9.525 score. Elena Baily (Woodbridge, Va.) finished in 14th with 9.475.
UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
The Owls final score in Uneven Parallel Bars was 46.725. Jayci Jordan posted a career-best score at 9.600 to come in eighth for the Owls. Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) was one place behind Jordan with a score of 9.575. Kamryn Leinheiser (Burlington Township, N.J.) came close to breaking her career record with a score of 9.225 for 14th place, while Megan Workman placed in 15th behind Leinheiser with a score of 9.175 for a career-best. Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.) placed 16th at 9.150.
BALANCE BEAM
Southern finished with a 46.000 in Beam with Angel Lee leading the way in fourth place for a season-best score of 9.755. Abby Royer posted a career-best at 9.525 for 11th place, while Sydney Smith posted a score of 9.000 in her first showing for 19th. Alexa Melanson (Moncton, New Brunswick) finished in 20th at 8.875 and Libby Allen was at 22nd with 8.825.
FLOOR EXERCISE
In Floor, Southern finished with a score of 48.350. Hanna Zebdi was the Owls' top finisher in the event for second place where she presented a score of 9.800 for a season-high. Abby Royer came in fifth with a score of 9.725, while Ciana Rios finished in eighth at 9.700. Libby Allen posted a 9.650 for 12th and Erica Beyer (State College, Pa.) placed 16th with 9.475 points.

Southern is back in action on Friday, Feb. 3 when it travels to Piscataway, N.J to compete in a tri-meet hosted by Rutgers University featuring the University of Michigan and Fisk University.
