PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Southern Connecticut volleyball was defeated by Pace University, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday night. Southern dropped to an overall record of 11-13 and an NE10 record of 1-6. Pace improved to an overall record of 12-6, and an NE10 record of 3-4.
Pace took the first set over Southern with a close scoreline of 25-21. In the second set, the Setters pulled away with another tight scoreline of 25-23 over the Owls. In the third set, Pace finished out the match with a final score of 25-19.
Carissa Michel had her third double-double of the season with a team-best of 15 kills and 11 digs.
Sara Enright and
Sarah Stark both had seven kills of their own. Enright recorded a team-best of 16 digs, while
Aubrey Villena had 11 digs against the Setters.
Villena led the team in service aces with two, as
Ahunna James tallied a team-best of four blocks.
Sofia Suarez Ramos and
Sarah Stark added two blocks each for the Owls. For assists,
Lily Miller recorded 22 and
Jessica Rodriguez added seven assists of her own.
Volleyball returns to Pelz Gym on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. in an NE10 matchup against Southern New Hampshire University. On Sunday, Oct. 29, it's Senior Day for the Owls as they will play a non-conference matchup against Molloy University at 12:00 p.m. in Pelz Gym.
