SCSU Field Hockey Falls To Saint Anselm, 4-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut field hockey lost to Saint Anselm, 4-1, in a Northeast-10 Conference game in New Haven, Conn. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the NE10 while Saint Anselm improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play.



Tori Geaglone scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season less than four minutes into the first quarter to stake the Owls a 1-0 lead. Geaglone was set up on the play by Trinidad Rodriguez Ricchiuti, who converted on her team-leading eighth assist of the season. Rodriguez Ricchiuti has recorded six assists over her last three games.

In goal, Rachel Miller made 13 saves for the Owls, which is her second highest total of the season.

Southern is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 10 when it travels to Sparkill, N.Y. to take on Saint Thomas Aquinas. The Owls also host Adelphi on Friday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.
