SCSU Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Staten Island, 132-74

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut men's swimming and diving defeated the College of Staten Island, 132-74, in a matchup between Northeast-10 Conference opponents.
 
400 Yard Medley Relay
The Owls 400 Medley Relay team of J.D. Starkey, Travis Scott, Kobe Dominguez and Jack Fry won with a time of 3:40.17.
 
1000 Yard Freestyle
Dylan Prescher won the 1000 Free with a time of 10:08.07 followed by Kristofer Janney at 10:29.17 and Nicholas Zerva at 10:48.27.
 
200 Yard Freestyle
Franklin Kuhn captured the 200 Free with a time of 1:48.09 followed by freshman standout Lucas Quiroga at 1:50.19. Samir Souidi was third at 1:52.60.
 
50 Yard Freestyle
Jack Fry won the 50 Free with a time of 22.10 followed by Drew Ladner in third place at 22.35 and Adam Fred in fourth at 22.48.  
 
200 Yard Individual Medley
Michael Aiello finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.10 followed by Jacob Tanner at 2:08.27.
 
1 Meter Diving
Jonathan Tressel won the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 233.10 followed by first-year Owl Jayson Main with a score of 210.45.
 
100 Yard Butterfly
Jacob Tanner won the 100 Fly with a time of 54.92 while Aiello was second at 55.31. Nicholas Zerva finished fourth at 58.07.
 
100 Yard Freestyle
Ladner won the 100 Free with a time of 48.86 followed by Kuhn at 48.95.
 
100 Yard Backstroke
Adam Fred captured the 100 Back event with a time of 54.38 followed by Dominguez in second place at 54.63 while Starkey touched at 54.88 for third place.  
 
500 Yard Freestyle
Collin Doyle won the 500 Free event with a time of 5:12.44. Exhibition scores for Southern Connecticut including Lucas Quiroga at 4:56.60, Samir Souidi at 5:00.39 and Aiden Kennedy at 5:06.57.
 
3 Meter Diving
Jayson Main won the 3 Meter event with a score of 200.40 while Tressel finished at 177.92.
 
100 Yard Breaststroke
Dominguez led the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.19 followed by Janney at 1:04.40.
 
400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The 400 Free Relay team of Fry, Prescher, Kennedy and Zerva posted an event-leading, but exhibition, time of 3:20.99 while the "B" team of Kuhn, Fred, Aiello and Fournier posted a time of 3:21.13. The "C" team of Ladner, Quiroga, Starkey and Zach Krantz finished at 3:21.49.  
 
Southern returns to action with a busy week as they compete in back-to-back days against Yale on Thursday, Dec. 7 at Hutchinson Natatorium at 4 p.m. and then at Pace on Friday, Dec. 8.
