WORCESTER, Mass.– Southern Connecticut Men's Swimming & Diving continued its back-and-forth battle against Bentley. The Owls completed the second day in first place with 283 points.
The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Kobe Dominguez, Jack Fry, Mason Wilde, and Franklin Kuhn finished third with a time of 1:24.58. The Owls' B Team of Aiden Kennedy, Connor Skarzynski, Nick Fournier, and Collin Doyle finished third in their heat with a time of 1:29.60
McAllistar Milne grabbed his second Gold medal of the championship with a first-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:33.07. Dylan Prescher finished fourth in the race at 4:44.51. Henry Velasquez finished fifth at 4:46.61. Samir Souidi finished third in the B-Final with a time of 4:51.57
Chandler Tucker successful defended his 2022 NE10 200 Yard Individual Medley Gold with a win in the event for his second Gold Medal on the second day of competition. Tucker's win in the 200 IM came with a career-best 1:48.84, finishing almost four seconds ahead of Adelphi. Kobe Dominguez finished fourth at 1:56.55. Wilde finished second in his heat with a time of 1:58.17. Jacob Tanner was closed behind in third place at 2:01.62, followed by Michael Aiello in fifth at 2:03.95.
Franklin Kuhn finished first in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 20.73. Jack Fry picked up 2 point in with a fifth-placed finish at 21.68.
Southern Connecticut junior Matheus Silva won the Bronze Medal in 1 Meter Diving Championship with a score of 382.00. Jonathan Tressel finished sixth with a score of 279.85 in the event.
The 400 Medley Relay team of Chandler Tucker, McAllistar Milne, Henry Velasquez, and Franklin Kuhn finished first with a time of 3:23.15. The Owls' B Team of Collin Doyle, Kobe Dominguez, Michael Aiello, and Jack Fry finished first in their heat with a time of 3:30.56.
Southern returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 11 with preliminary rounds in the 400 Yard IM, 100 Yard Butterfly, 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Breaststroke, 100 Yard Backstroke at 10:15 a.m. with finals set for 6 p.m.
