COLLEGE PARK, MD - Southern Connecticut gymnastics posted a season-high score of 193.400, just narrowly falling to the University of Maryland who finished with 196.550 in College Park, MD on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.
The Owls posted a season-best in three events, Vault (48.425), Bars (47.950), and Floor (48.725). Southern Connecticut also posted individual career-best scores. Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) scored 9.750 in the Vault for a career-best. Three Owls notched career-highs in the Floor. Abby Royer (Boyertown, Pa.) scored 9.825 while Libby Allen (Franklin, Tenn.) also placed a career-high in Floor with 9.800. Erica Beyer (State College, Pa.) recorded 9.750 in the event.
VAULT
Southern finished with a season-high score of 48.425 in the Vault. Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) was the top finisher for the Owls in sixth place with a score of 9.800 to tie her career-high score from Mar. 19, 2022. Hannah Stahlbrodt finished in eighth with a score of 9.750 for a career-high. Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) finished with a score of 9.650 for ninth place and Brianna Dorr (Hampton, N.J.) finished in tenth with 9.625.
UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
The Owls final score in Uneven Parallel Bars was 47.950 for a season-best. Hannah Stahlbrodt led the way for the Owls with a top score of 9.800 for a third place finish. Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.)Â finished in sixth with 9.725 while Jayci Jordan (Culleoka, Tenn.) finished in eighth with 9.525. Megan Workman (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) and Sarah Moussa (Bohemia, N.Y.) each tabbed a score of 9.450 for ninth place.
BALANCE BEAM
Southern finished with a 48.300 in Beam with Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) leading the way in fourth place with a score of 9.800. Abby Royer notched an eight place finish with a score of 9.750 to tie her season-high from the Owls' previous meet on sun. Feb. 12, 2023. Maria Damiano (Randolph, N.J.) scored 9.725 for a ninth place finish while Emiley Kahl (Dallastown, Pa.) took tenth with 9.600.
FLOOR EXERCISE
In Floor, Southern finished with a score of 48.725 for a season-high. Abby Royer placed fifth with a score of 9.825 for a career-high. Libby Allen finished in sixth with 9.800 to also record a career-high. Hanna Zebdi notched seventh with 9.775 while Erica Beyer placed eighth at 9.750 for a career-high.
