LEXINGTON, Ky. – Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics All-American Abby Royer will compete in the 2026 NCAA National Championship Regional in Lexington, Ky. on Friday, Apr. 3 during Session I at 1 p.m. Owls fans can watch Royer live on ESPN+ and follow the live scoring on Virtius.

Royer made history this season as the first SCSU gymnast to compete in the NCAA Championships since 1997. Royer is also the 11th SCSU gymnast all-time to compete in the national competition.

This season, she was named to the WCGA All-America First Team, WCGNIC All-America First Team, Gymnastics East Conference First Team in the Floor Exercise event and was also named a GEC Scholar-Athlete. Royer also became the second SCSU gymnast to win a GEC Event Championship when she captured the Floor Exercise title at this year's meet.

Royer broke the SCSU program record in the Floor event with a 9.95 in her first competition on Jan. 17. She followed with a matching score of 9.95 in her next meet – earning a 10.0 from the same judge in consecutive competitions. Royer earned her invitation to the NCAA Regional with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.905.
