SCSU Gymnastics Posts Season-High 190.700 Against Rutgers, Michigan and Fisk

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Southern Connecticut gymnastics posted its highest team score of the season after totaling 190.700 at the Rutgers February Quad Meet with Rutgers, nationally ranked No. 3 Michigan and Fisk University. The Owls also set season-highs in the Floor, Vault and Beam.
 
Hanna Zebdi led the Owls with the Owls' two highest scores in the meet after posting a 9.750 on the Floor and a 9.775 on the Vault. Libby Allen, the team's leading scorer this season, hit on all three of her events, scoring on the Vault, Floor and Beam.
 
Floor
Three Owls posted scores of 9.75 as Southern posted its highest score of the year on the Floor with a 48.675. Ciana Rios, Zebdi and Alexa Melanson also posted 9.75 to tie for 12th place while Abby Royer followed with a 9.275 with Allen scoring a 9.700. As a team, Southern posted a season-best 48.675.
 
Vault
On the Vault, Zebdi finished in seventh place with a 9.775, the Owls highest score of the evening. Brianna Dorr and Lexi Bracher tied for ninth with a 9.725. Libby Allen posted a 9.600 while Elena Bailey recorded a 9.500. Southern scored a combined season-best of 48.325.
 
Bars
Ciana Rios led Southern on the Bars with a 9.650, followed close behind by Hannah Stahlbrodt's 9.625.
 
Beam
Angel Lee led Southern on the Balance Beam with a 9.750 for a tie of 10th place. Libby Allen was close behind at 9.575 followed by Emelia Diaz at 9.525 and Emiley Kahl at 9.50.
 
Southern is back in action on Sunday, Feb. 5 when it travels to Providence, R.I. to go head to head with Brown University.
