SCSU Gymnastics Sets Season-Best Team, Beam and Bars Scores Against Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After hitting a season-high team score in its Quad Meet at Rutgers on Friday, Feb. 3, Southern Connecticut Gymnastics set a new season-best scored with a 192.500 against Brown in Providence, R.I. In addition, the Owls set a new season-high in the Beam and Bars events.
 
Individually, Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) posted a 9.850 on the Beam, which is the best score for any Southern student-athlete in any event this season, while also winning the event against Brown. Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) also set the Owls' new season-best on the Vault with a 9.775 while Abby Royer (Boyertown, Pa.) and Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) each posted 9.7's or higher in two event, each.
 
VAULT
Bracher's 9.775 led the Owls while she also finished second in the event. Brianna Dorr (Hampton, N.J.) posted a season-best 9.700 for a tie of fourth with Zebdi. Elana Bailey (Woodbridge, Va.) and Libby Allen (Franklin, Tenn.) rounded out the scoring in the event for Southern with matching 9.55's. 
 
BARS
Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) finished second with a season-best 9.775 while Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.) slotted into the seventh spot with a 9.700. Sarah Moussa (Bohemia, N.Y.) had a 9.55 and Megan Workman (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) had a 9.425, which were both season-best scores in the event. The Owls' 47.450 was also a season-best. 
 
BEAM
Lee's 9.850 is a career best for the Owls' sophomore and also placed her in first place in the event. Freshman Maria Damiano (Randolph, N.J.) also had an impressive routine to net a 9.8250, for Southern's second-best score of the season and a tie for second place. Royer tied for fifth with a 9.775 while Allen (9.675) and Emiley Kahl (Dallastown, Pa.) had a 9.600 to finish in the top 10.  Southern combined for a 48.725, which is the highest of the season and the second-highest in program history.
 
FLOOR
Zebdi led the Owls with a 9.775 for fourth place while Royer was close behind at 9.750. Rios scored again for Southern with a 9.625 for seventh place while Allen finished eighth at 9.525.
