NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Southern Connecticut fell to Bridgeport, 194.100-192.600, on the Owls' Senior Night. Southern posted an All-Time Team Record in the Floor Exercise with a 49.100.
Seniors Ava Boyd (Braintree, Mass.), Charlie Lister (Surrey, England) and Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) were honored at the meet. The Owls recorded an All-Time High Record in the Floor Event with a score of 49.100. The last time this record was broken was in the 2018 season at the ECAC Division II Tournament Championships where the Owls recorded a 49.025. Ava Kelly (Long Beach Island, N.J.) posted a career-best score in the Vault with a 9.725. Hannah Stahlbrodt finished first in the Uneven Parallel Bars with a 9.875 for a career-best. Libby Allen (Franklin, Tenn.) scored a career-best for fourth place in the Beam with a 9.750, and also scored a career-high in the Floor with 9.875 points for first place. Alexa Melanson (Moncton, New Brunswick) had a career-high in the Floor with a 9.850 for second place.
VAULT
Southern Connecticut scored a 48.500 in the Vault event, falling just shy of Bridgeport who scored a 48.625. Elena Bailey (Woodbridge, Va.) placed third in the event with a score of 9.750 which tied her career-record from Mar. 5, 2023. Ava Kelly and Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) both finished in fifth with a 9.725. The score was Kelly's career-best. Hannah Stahlbrodt scored a 9.675 for eighth place while Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) was close behind in ninth with 9.625. Libby Allen rounded out the Owls scores with a 9.550 for tenth place.
UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
The Owls finished with a total score of 48.150 in the Uneven Parallel Bars Event just ahead of Bridgeport who scored 47.925. Hannah Stahlbrodt finished first in the event to lead the Owls with a 9.875 for a career-best. Jayci Jordan (Culleoka, Tenn.) took second place with a solid 9.800 which she has scored in the last two meets in the Bars Event. Audrey Arnold (Kirkland, Wa.) notched fourth with a 9.675 while Sarah Moussa (Bohemia, N.Y.) placed in seventh with 9.525. Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.) placed in eleventh with a 9.275 with Megan Workman (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) rounding out the scoring with a 8.900 for twelfth place.
BEAM
Southern scored a 46.850 in the Beam Event behind Bridgeport who scored a 48.900. Libby Allen led the way for the Owls with a 9.750 for fourth place for a career-high. Maria Damiano (Randolph, N.J.) placed fifth with a 9.725 to tie her career-best from Feb. 17, 2023. Hannah Stahlbrodt placed ninth with a 9.275 while Emiley Kahl (Dallastown, Pa.) placed in tenth with a 9.100. Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) finished in eleventh with a score of 9.000 and Alexa Melanson (Moncton, New Brunswick) finished in twelfth with an 8.975.
FLOOR
The Owls finished with an All-Time Program High in the Floor Exercise finishing with a total score of 49.100 to beat their previous record of 49.025 from the 2018 season at the ECAC Division II Tournament Championships. Bridgeport scored behind the Owls with a 48.650. Libby Allen finished first for the Owls with a career-best 9.875 points. Ciana Rios placed second with 9.850 to tie her score from the previous meet against Fisk, Temple and Ursinus College on Mar. 5, 2023. Hanna Zebdi tied with Rios with a score of 9.850 to match her career-high score from Mar. 19, 2022. Alexa Melanson also tied with Rios and Zebdi for second with her career-best score. Hannah Stahlbrodt finished in eighth with a score of 9.675 while Erica Beyer (State College, Pa.) finished in tenth with 9.600.
