BRIDGEPORT, Conn.- Southern Connecticut fell to Bridgeport, 193.475-193.075 on Sunday, Mar. 12, 2023. The Owls posted a new All-Time Record in the Floor Event with a score of 49.200 to beat their previous score of 49.100 from Friday, Mar. 10 against Bridgeport.
Hanna Zebdi (Ashburn, Va.) hit a new career-best in the Vault with a 9.850, while Sarah Moussa (Bohemia, N.Y.) found her career-best on the Bars with a 9.725. Many Owls tied their career-highs in the meet against Bridgeport including Hannah Stahlbrodt (Cicero, N.Y.) on the Bars with a 9.875, Libby Allen (Franklin, Tenn.) on the Floor with a 9.875, and Ciana Rios (Vineland, N.J.), Hanna Zebdi and Alexa Melanson (Moncton, New Brunswick) with a 9.850 on the Floor.
VAULT
The Owls rose above the Purple Knights in the Vault, 48.475-48.275. Hanna Zebdi placed first in the Vault with a career-high 9.850. Hannah Stahlbrodt placed fifth with a 9.675 while Ava Kelly (Long Beach Island, N.J.), Lexi Bracher (Oakton, Va.) and Elena Bailey (Woodbridge, Va.) each tied for sixth with a 9.650. Libby Allen rounded out the Owls scoring with a 9.525 for tenth.
UNEVEN PARALLEL BARS
Southern finished with a 48.400 in the Uneven Parallel Bars above Bridgeport who scored 47.550. Hannah Stahlbrodt led the way for the Owls placing first with a score of 9.875 to tie her career-best from the previous meet against Bridgeport on Friday, Mar. 10. Ciana Rios placed second posting a 9.750 while Sarah Moussa placed fourth with a 9.725 for her career-best. Megan Workman (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) and Jaycee Jordan (Culleoka, Tenn.) finished seventh with a 9.525 while Audrey Arnold (Kirkland, Wa.) finished with a 8.975 for tenth.
BEAM
The Owls fell to the Purple Knights in the Beam event. Southern scored a 47.000 while the Purple Knights had the upper hand with a 48.825. Angel Lee (Chino Hills, Calif.) was the Owls top finisher for fifth place scoring 9.700. Libby Allen finished seventh scoring 9.600 while Alexa Melanson notched ninth with 9.500. Maria Damiano (Randolph, N.J.) placed tenth with 9.200 while Hannah Stahlbrodt scored a 9.000 for eleventh. Emiley Kahl (Dallastown, Pa.) rounded out the Owls' scoring with a 8.775 for twelfth.
FLOOR
The Owls posted a new All-Time Record in the Floor with a 49.200 to beat their previous high from Friday, Mar. 10 when the Owls faced Bridgeport at James Moore Field House in New Haven, Conn. Previously, the Owls top score in the Floor was a 49.025 from the 2018 season at the ECAC Division II Tournament Championships. Bridgeport finished with a 48.825 in the event. Libby Allen finished first for the Owls with a 9.875 to tie her career-best from the Owls' previous meet. Ciana Rios, Hanna Zebdi and Alexa Melanson tied for second with a 9.850 to tie their career-bests. Hannah Stahlbrodt placed seventh with a score of 9.775 while Erica Beyer (State College, Pa.) finished ninth with 9.750.
