NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut State University gymnastics standout Abby Royer was named a 2026 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Division II All-America First Team selection for the Floor Exercise, as announced by the WCGA on Monday, March 30, 2026.
The honor is the latest in an incredible season for the Owls senior. In her first competition of the year, Royer broke the SCSU program record with a 9.95 in the Floor Exercise – a feat she duplicated the following week, notably with a perfect 10.0 from the same judge in consecutive competitions. Royer was also named to the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Floor First Team and earned WCGNIC All-American Floor First Team honors.
Last week, Royer etched her name into the SCSU Gymnastics history books by becoming the first gymnast selected to compete in the NCAA National Championships since 1997. In addition, she is just the 11th gymnast to compete in the all-division national championships. Royer will compete in the regional in Lexington, Ky. On Apr. 3, 2026.
