HARDEESVILLE, S.C. – Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse rolled to a 21-8 victory in a non-conference matchup against Savannah College of Arts and Design (SCAD) in Hardeesville, S.C. With the win, the Owls improved to 5-2 overall while SCAD dropped to 1-4 on the season.

The Owls were led by a pair of six-point games from Alexandra Ruel and Morgan Reilly. Ruel scored a season-high five goals while adding an assist while Reilly had three goals and three assists. Karlie Rowe totaled four goals and an assist while Kirsten McIntire and Molly Kelly both scored three goals apiece. It would be the closest the game would be for the remainder of the game as the Owls rattled off five unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead. Brianna Shaw, Rowe, Molly Kelly, McIntire and Ruel all scored in the Owls run before SCAD got on the board again. McIntire and Ruel added goals to end the first quarter with the Owls leading, 8-3.

Kelly, Rowe and Reilly all scored before Alexa Alchimio scored her first of the season on a free position shot to give the Owls a 12-3 lead. After SCAD scored back-to-back goals to cut Southern's lead to 12-5, Ruel scored three-straight goals before Rowe tallied another as Southern headed into the break with a 16-5 lead.

The Owls, slowing the tempo down, outscored SCAD, 3-1, in the third quarter as Reilly, Kelly and McIntire all converted before Allie Palmer scored in a shorthanded situation to give Southern a 20-6 lead. SCAD managed to outscored Southern in the final quarter, 3-1, with Reilly scoring the Owls lone goal as Southern Connecticut capped the 21-9 victory.
