SCSU Women's Lacrosse Highlights vs. Le Moyne (Apr. 26, 2023)

Bayleigh Takacs turned in another incredible performance for the Owls as she factored into five of Southern's nine goals with three goals and three assists. Takacs' performance is her fourth of at least five points in her last give games including three-straight with five-or-more.

Takacs now has 15 goals and 10 assists in her last five games as well as 38 goals and 32 assists for the season as she becomes just the second player in program history to tally 70 points in a season, joining Samantha Cozzolino who registered a program record 71 in 2019.

Alexandra Ruel scored four goals for the Owls, matching her season-best for the third time this year. Ruel now has eight goals in her last three games for Southern. Savannah Feinberg and Kirsten McIntire also scored for the Owls. Mcintire's goal was the 30th of the season for the transfer as she joins Takacs and Karlie Rowe to give Southern its first trio of 30-goal scorers since 2018.

Ruel and Takacs scored in the game's first five minutes to give Southern a 2-1 lead before Le Moyne responded with three-straight goals and outscored the Owls, 5-1, over the final 10 minutes of the quarter. Coming out of the first break with a 6-3 lead, Le Moyne rattled off five-straight scores to take an 11-3 advantage. Ruel scored twice in the quarter that the Dolphins ultimately controlled, 8-2, to take a 14-5 lead into halftime.

Four-straight goals in the third gave Le Moyne an 18-5 lead. The Owls bounced back in the fourth quarter as they scored four unanswered goals to cut Le Moyne's lead to 18-9, but a pair of late goals by the Dolphins sealed the win.

Southern will play its final regular season game of the season with a spot in the NE10 tournament on the line. The Owls, playing for its first NE10 tournament appearance in program history, host Assumption for a win-to-get-in matchup on Saturday, Apr. 29. The Owls and Greyhounds face-off at Jess Dow Field at 1 p.m., with Senior Day set for prior to the start of the action.
