SCSU Men's Swimming & Diving Tops Shippensburg At WCU Tri-Meet

Southern Connecticut men's swimming & diving kicked-off the 2023 season with a tri-meet at West Chester University in West Chester, Pa. which also featured Shippensburg. The home team Rams defeated Southern, 210-83, while the Owls topped Shippensburg, 160-117.
 
200 Yard Individual Medley
First-year Owl Drew Ladner had the Owls highest finish of the day in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.10 for second place. Jacob Tanner was third at 2:12.16.
 
400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The 400 Free Relay team of Franklin Kuhn, Jack Fry, Adam Fred and Aiden Kennedy finished second with a time of 3:19.59.
 
100 Yard backstroke
Adam Fred was the Owls top finisher in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a third-place finish at 55.99. Drew Ladner touched at 57.33 followed close behind by JD Starkey at 57.34.
 
200 Yard Butterly
Michaek Aiello led the Owls in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:05.55 for third place.
 
50 Yard Freestlye
In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Jack Fry took third place with a time of 22.74 while Franklin Kuhn finished at 22.92 for fifth place.

100 Yard Freestyle
It was Fry again leading the Owls, this time with a time of 49.85 in the 100 Free. Kuhn was close behind at 49.99.
 
200 Yard Backstroke
First-year Owl Kristopher Janney was the Owls top finisher in the 200 Back with a time of 2:06.60.
 
500 Yard Freestyle
Dylan Prescher finished third in the 500 Free with a time of 5:02.01.
 
The Owls are back in action when they compete in the Fairfield Invitational on Oct. 6-7. The diving events will take place on Friday, Oct. 6 while the swimming events commence on Saturday, Oct. 7, with 6 p.m. set for the start time for both.
