NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut men's soccer tied with Adelphi, 2-2. Southern Connecticut had two big goals in the first half to put them ahead, but Adelphi got right back in it to equalize. The Owls are now 4-6-3 overall and 2-4-1 in the conference. Adelphi is now 7-4-3 overall and 3-2-2 in the conference.
Southern Connecticut struck first after pressuring an Adelphi defender close to the Panther's goal. Jose Clemente was able to take it away from the defender and find Jake Novoshelski for the first goal of the night.
Less than 10 minutes after Southern's first goal, Adelphi tied it up.
Raffaele Ciarleglio checked in for the Owls and came up with a big goal with only 7 minutes to go in the first half which gave the Owls the lead. This is his first goal of the season.
Adelphi scored the equalizer with only 8 minutes left in the game.
The Owls are back at home on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. where they'll celebrate their 12 seniors on Senior Night.
