SCSU Field Hockey Falls To Pace

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut field hockey lost to Pace, 6-1, in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup in Pleasantville, N.Y. With the loss, Southern dropped to 5-12 overall and 3-9 in the NE10 while Pace improved to 12-5 overall and 9-3 in conference play.



Lindsay Onofrio scored her second career goal just 6:14 into the game on a pass from Taylor Leckey, who picked up her third assist of the season. Southern held a 1-0 lead through most of the first quarter, with Owls' goalkeeper Lyndsay Troisi turning back the first four Pace shots on goal of the game before the Setters scored with 10 seconds left in the first frame.

The Setters made it 3-0 at halftime with a two-goal second quarter before scoring three second-half goals to close out the 6-1 win.

Southern will wrap up the season on Friday, Nov. 1 when it hosts Mercy at 6 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
