NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut men's soccer team drops their non-conference game to Molloy, 2-1. The Owls got ahead but could not hold on as Molloy scored the final two goals of the game. Southern Connecticut is now 5-7-3 overall. Molloy improves to 6-6-4 overall.
About 10 minutes into the first half, Umberto Catale made a great play to take the ball away from a Molloy defender to then get it to Jake Novoshelski. Novoshelski used his speed to get around the other defenders and put one past the keeper for the first goal of the night. He has scored three goals in the last four games.
Molloy scored the equalizer nine minutes after Novoshelski's goal. After a quiet rest of the first half, Molloy came back ready and scored less than 10 minutes into the second. Ultimately, the Owls could not match it and the Lion's came out on top.
Southern Connecticut is back on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they travel to American International for their final regular season game.
