Alex da Cunha headlines the awards earning First Team honors while Jose Clemente and Samuel Nagy earned Second Team honors. Along with these awards, Solomon Aidoo, and Kasper Murzinski were named to the All-Rookie Team.
da Cunha has been one of the top defenders in the Northeast-10 this season and has been for his whole career. Along with anchoring the backline, da Cunha was able to get things done on the offensive end when needed as well. In a game against Assumption on Oct. 25, he assisted the first goal of the game and scored the second to help the Owls win, 3-1. He has earned an NE10 Conference award in each of his four seasons with the Owls.
Clemente came to Southern Connecticut from Saint Rose and made an immediate impact scoring a hat-trick for a 3-0 win in the first game of the season against Bloomfield on Sept. 5. In the fourth game of the season against Queens on Sept. 18, Clemente had a goal and an assist to help the team to a 3-1 win. Down the stretch, he added three more goals and an assist making him the team leader in goals (7) and points (16).
Nagy, who transferred to Southern Connecticut from University of Missouri – Kansas City, has been a key player for the Owls this season. He had his first assist as an Owl in the fourth game against Queens on Sept. 18 which was a 3-1 win. His first goal was on Oct. 5 against Saint Michael's in a 3-0 win where he also had an assist. After some time off due to an injury, Nagy was right back where he left off – in his first game back against Assumption on Oct. 25 he scored to help the Owls to a 3-1 win. He is first on the team in assists (3), second in goals (3), and points (9). In conference play, he is first on the team in points (9).
Aidoo is a dynamic player that has switched between playing midfield and defense as seen fit and constantly makes key stops for the backline. He is the only player on the team to start in all 17 games and is second on the team in minutes with 1484 minutes – he's second to fellow All-Rookie honoree, Murzinski.
Murzinski has been a great addition to this Owls team and a consistent player all season at the midfield position. He led the team in minutes played with 1493 minutes and has started in all but one of the Owls 17 games. Murzinski also had an assist in the first game of the season against Bloomfield on Sept. 5 to help the Owls to a 3-0 win.
